Privacy Policy
Rise Inc · Last updated 28 October 2026
This explains what personal data the Rise Inc game (https://riseinc.web.app) collects, why, and what you can do about it. We keep it to what the game needs. We do not sell your personal data. We do not currently show ads, and if that changes we will update this policy first.
1. What we collect
- Account details. If you sign in with Google, we receive your Google account identifier, email address and name through Firebase Authentication. If you sign in with an email link, we receive your email address. If you play as a guest, we create an anonymous identifier with no name or email.
- Game progress. Your save (your company, workers, cash, Diamonds, research and so on) is stored in your browser. When you are signed in or a guest with cloud saving, a copy is stored in our database so you can continue on another device.
- Leaderboard data. Your company or display name and your best results (such as company value) are stored in a public leaderboard that other players can see.
- Purchase records. When you buy Diamonds we store your account identifier, the pack, the amount, the PayPal order and transaction identifiers, the status (including any refund), and your Diamond wallet balance. Your card and PayPal login details go to PayPal only. We never see or store them.
- Device storage. Your browser stores your save, settings and the game's files (so it loads fast and works offline) in local storage and a cache. If you allow notifications, your browser shows alerts such as "research finished". These alerts come from your own device. PayPal and Google may set their own cookies or similar storage when you pay or sign in, under their own policies.
- Anonymous usage statistics. We count a few events, such as first visit, return visits, hiring a first worker, launching a first product, sharing, signing in and buying Diamonds. Each event carries a random anonymous ID stored on your device. We use no cookies and no advertising trackers, and we do not send your name, email, company name or save data with these events. You can switch this off in Settings.
- Technical logs. Our hosting and server providers keep standard logs (for example IP address, time and errors) for security and to fix problems.
2. Why we use it
- To run the game, sign you in and keep your progress safe.
- To take payments, credit the Diamonds you bought, and handle refunds and disputes.
- To show leaderboards.
- To understand how the game is used, so we can fix and improve it.
- To prevent fraud, cheating and abuse, and to keep the service secure.
- To meet legal, tax and accounting obligations, and to answer your questions.
3. Who we share it with
- Google (Firebase). We use Firebase (Authentication, Firestore database, Hosting and Functions) to run the game. Google processes data for us under its own terms. Servers may be in several countries.
- PayPal. When you pay, PayPal processes the payment under its own privacy policy and tells us whether it succeeded.
- PostHog. Our analytics provider receives the anonymous usage events described above and processes them for us. It does not receive your name, email or save.
- Other players. Only your leaderboard name and results are public.
- Authorities and advisers when the law requires it, or to protect our rights and users.
We do not sell your personal data and we do not share it for advertising.
4. How long we keep it
We keep your account and save for as long as your account is active. When you ask us to delete your data, we delete your account, save and leaderboard entry. Purchase and refund records may be kept for as long as tax, accounting or legal rules require, and then deleted. Backups and logs are removed on a regular schedule.
5. Your choices and rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your personal data, or withdraw consent, by contacting us (section 8). Guests can also clear the game's data from their browser settings, which removes the local save. You can turn notifications and anonymous usage statistics off in the game's settings, or in your browser. Under Malaysia's Personal Data Protection Act 2010, and other privacy laws that apply to you, you may have further rights, and you can complain to the relevant data protection authority.
6. Children
The game is not meant for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you think a child has given us personal data, contact us and we will delete it. Players under 18 should ask a parent or guardian before buying.
7. Security and changes
We use the security features of Google Firebase and PayPal and limit access to our systems, but no service is perfectly secure. We may update this policy. The date at the top shows when it last changed, and significant changes will be shown in the game.
